Decorative still from Our Arboretum.

I spent the summer of 2024 interviewing people from the community of Guelph about their connections to The Arboretum at the University of Guelph, (as well as being eaten alive by mosquitoes shooting b-roll and drone footage – it was a humid and damp summer!); and the first of the video outputs is now online! “Our Arboretum” highlights the community’s perspective on what The Arboretum means to them and features the just upgraded and now accessible IVEY trail.
This is my fourth video project with The Arboretum, and as always the success of the final outcome is due to the magic of our editor (and my good friend), Ed Sinclair.
Established in 1970, The Arboretum encompasses 400 acres adjacent to the campus and features plant collections, gardens, walking trails, natural woodlands, wetlands, and meadows. It’s a living laboratory, a refuge, an escape, a safe space to engage with nature, a research site, a gathering place to explore, and so much more.
