In the mid-1990’s this skull face was on every Calvin Klein TTC shelter ad along Queen St. West (Toronto) , which wasn’t the gentrified condo/club land it is today. It was the era of heroin chic models and Queen St. West was gritty and miles from the mainstream. Queen West was CAMH (Center for Addiction and Mental Health), appliance/vintage shops on every block, indie art galleries and cheap rentals. After dark it was desolate and seedy.
