IF 2021 officially begins streaming at midnight UTC+01 (Coordinated Universal Time) on August 14, 2021.
What are you doing on August 13 and 14, 2021? Save the dates and pop over to improvfest.ca for some or all 24-hours of streaming improvisational arts by 150+ artists from all over the world (including me!) A version of my film In Plain View – an assemblage of experimental and filtered drone video of a clear cut agro-forest with a sound track composed improvisationally while scraping and rubbing iron bars will be screening at some point in the festival.
IF 2021 is a free, 24-hour online festival of improvised arts, featuring international performers of all disciplines—music, dance, theatre, poetry, visual arts, and more. Presented by the International Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation (IICSI) in partnership with festivals and community organizations around the world, this all-night celebration of the arts will start streaming online on August 14th at midnight (UTC+1) – but check your start time here, (last year someone turned in just as the festival ended!!!), once it’s over, that’s it.
In the spirit of happenstance discovery, the festival has no posted schedule, much like a gumball machine – you’ll never know what to expect, but you will be surprised!
