I have a stack of sheet film duds from demos and was inspired to play. This one has (old) cyanotype chemistry, and the you can still see some of the latent image in it.

The title is from a Skinny Puppy record - their show in 1990 at the Concert Hall, is still one of the best concerts I have ever been too.

This is my favourite abandoned farmhouse to photograph. Perhaps because it’s still there, or simply because it’s so beautiful every time I stop to visit.

I even had a chance meeting with the daughter-in-law of the family who used to live here, who said the family merely upgraded and left the house for the elements. And of course there is a skeleton of a piano inside.

It too, will be test printed as a palladium this week.

I finally got to see (and photograph!) the bottom

I finally got to see (and photograph!) the bottom of Guelph Lake.

Guelph Lake is a “man-made” reservoir of the Speed River, completed in 1976.

The bottom features an aggregate site, roads lined with tree stumps, tires, a boat, tires, and farm lands - the later of which the owners were not happy to have to leave.

Apparently the lake may be low for a little longer and I am definitely going to return to explore the site on foot. (But I have to admit I am biased to the drone POV).

I have been hoping to photograph the submerged farm lands and gravel pit roads lined with tree stumps of the Guelph Lake Reservoir for a couple years, but I always arrive a day late.
By chance I was riding in the area on the weekend with my drone, and voila! - there were roads, gravel pits, and tires!

The Guelph Lake Conservation Area is a man-made reservoir on the Speed River created in 1974.

I finally felt human enough to go droning (stupid

I finally felt human enough to go droning (stupid covid). I missed the autumnal display of fall, but Guelph’s former Ontario Reformatory quarry was still beautiful to photograph.

I also got some video practice in using the spotlight mode - which I think looks robotic.

Yesterday, by chance, I flew my drone over the same abandoned research site, on the same calendar day, 2 years apart.

There’s something about looking and time and being cognizant of both… blah blah blah.

These views are so much more intriguing in larger view.

Views of Baie du Doré including the Bruce Nuclear

Views of Baie du Doré including the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station and Lake Huron. Heated outflows of water from the station allow birds to overwinter here and i’ve been told by my in-laws this is a terrific spot to see eagles - although we’ve only seen gulls, snakes, and turtles so far.

Hopefully we’ll be able to trek back here in the winter.

I was preoccupied with marshalling so I ended up with a lot of photos of the backsides of people 🤪. But I did get to go to the Mayor’s office to take the group photo!

What a great night.
