LUEUR / GLOW at Galerie Youn

after the rain
After the rain in the Canada Linseed Oil Ltd Factory, c-print, 14.5″x14.5″, 2008

Starting December 16, Galerie Youn presents LUEUR / GLOW,  a  holiday exhibition. Some thirty emergent artists discovered at international art fairs in London (UK), New York, Rome, Miami, Toronto, Berlin, Tokyo, Los Angeles, and – of course – Montreal, will each show one representative piece. These luminescent works will take various forms: the photographs, paintings, sculptures, drawings, and installations side by side will create a glowing environment. The Commute Design agency has also designed a very special installation in the Galerie’s front window, paying tribute to the artists and their talent—which lights up our winter!

Opening reception December 16, 17h – 20h

The Great Canadian Kiss Off – In Toronto Magazine

One of my favourite street shots, Lady DJ’s has been featured in The great Canadian kiss-off curated by Gordon Bowness in the July issue of In Toronto Magazine!

I took Lady DJ’s at the Beaver in 2007 after a casual night of shooting the now defunct Hump Day Bump at the neighboring Gladstone Hotel with my Nikkor 35mm pre AI-S 1.4 lens – a tank, but essential for night-time street shooting.

Kevin McBride 6 Photographs at the Cameron House Toronto

My friend and fellow URBEX (junkie) pal Kevin McBride has had a terrific exhibition at the Cameron House of 6 30″x30″ prints aptly titled “6 Photographs“. 30″x30” is a wonderfully HUGE size for TLR photographs to be printed and Kev’s are stunning.

Here are fellow TLR Club peeps Colin and Sandros trying to determine where the photos were taken and who also got the same same shots whilst drinking beer… we are soooo competitive (and love cold beer)!
