Inspired by the damage of my film by a lab last fall, I have been distressing my negatives and transparencies with fire, combustible liquids, cleaning solvents and the like.
It’s been years since I have literally destroyed my work and it’s liberating. Although some of the processes I am using create images that are more the results of chance than technique(s), the images I am choosing and the processes I am exposing them to are deliberate. And it’s fun playing with fire! Next week I am going to make a taser with a disposable camera….
😀
Jan. I might have a lead on a scientific tool for zapping gels, but this is definitely something worth trying with a wet neg on a metal tray….
Thanks for the video instructional… it looks so easy and so dangerous!
