The Kindness Project on-line art auction

I am excited to be part of the Kindness Project,  Jessie’s – The June Callwood Centre for Young Women on-line art auction that starts this Monday, November 17 and runs to December 1 at

The auction features unique and original pieces of art and jewellery by talented local and international artists; and the proceeds of the sales will help transform the lives of pregnant teens, young mothers and their children.

Jessie’s is celebrating it’s 30th anniversary and serves over 200 pregnant teenagers and 1,100 young families and their children every year. Learn more about June Callwood and the services and support Jessie’s offers to pregnant teenagers here.

I have donated a 24″x24″ print of 14th Street: Rooms with a View on Hahnemuhle Fine Art paper (below) to the auction.

My Work at the Tappo Wine Bar & Restaurant

Until November 2014 I have these 5 pieces on display at the Tappo Wine Bar & Restaurant in Toronto’s Distillery District. The photographs are from my series Urban Remains and Abandoned Places.

All of the works are 24″x24″ or 20″x30″, framed and printed on Hahnemühle FineArt paper.

Photopia at Gallery 44

sunset on Lakeview Coal, 2007 (available at Photopia 2014)

Despite the fact that it snowed last night, I know it’s Spring because Photopia is almost here.  Photopia is Gallery 44’s annual spring fundraising exhibition, sale and party that features a lottery draw for amazing prizes, (Aeroplan miles, passes, dinners and more) all donated from the Gallery 44 community. The proceeds from Photopia fund Gallery 44 exhibitions and education programs – of which I facilitate the Zine OUTREACH program.

The gallery walls are always filled with a killer selection of photographs created by both members and friends of Gallery 44.  And as most of the work is priced below $500, expect the art to be flying off the walls!

Photopia is free and raffle tickets are $10.

It is the “artiest party” of the year. You should go.

Participating artists include: Adolfo Fernandez, Alex Kisilevich, Andrew B. Myers, Anthony Koutras, Anuta Skrypka, Aurelien Muller, Beth Lesser, Brandon Davis, Brendan George Ko, Brooke Smith,Bruce Eves, Chris Curreri, Chris Ironside, Chris Shepherd, Dianne Davis, Eldon Garnet, Elisa Julia Gilmour, Gabrielle Trach, Greg Staats, Ian Willms, Jamie Campbell, JJ Levine, Jocelyn Reynolds, Juli Lyons, Keesic Douglas, Kristie MacDonald, Laurence Siegal, Luis Antonio, Lynne Cohen, Marc Audette, Marc Losier, Matt Macintosh, Melissa General, Monica Vichar, Nathan Cyprys, Neil Rough, Paula Grgurich Shewchuk, Pete Doherty, Peter Watson, Phillipa Croft, Randy Grskovic, Richelle Forsey, Robin Collyer, Robyn Cumming, Ruth Skinner, Sally Ayre, Sanjay Mehta, Sheryl Dudley, Showwei Chu, Surendra Lawoti, Taimaz Moslemian, Tineke Jorritsma, Tom Ridout, Tori Foster, Virginia Mak…

A Tresspass of Time and a little love from Montreal

I’m excited to finally announce my upcoming exhibition and artist talk dates tresspass-of-time-RForsey-MPP-Albanese-version-f-backfor A Trespass of Time at the Mount Dennis Toronto Public Library
(1123 Weston Road, Toronto, ON M6N 3S3). The exhibition runs: July 13 – August 1, 2013 and there is an opening reception, artist talk and presentation
with MPP Albanese on July 18, July 25,  6-8pm.

I’m going to be extolling the value(s) of urban exploration photography and exhibiting some of my early work from my Urban Remains series (2006-2008) that I photographed in the York South-Weston riding: Kodak Toronto, Benjamin Moore Paint, Symes Waste Transfer, Bunge and the New York Pork Exchange. MPP Albanese will be giving a talk about the history of the sites I have photographed and others in the York South-Weston riding.

In other news, my exhibition Paysages affectifs at Galerie Youn was reviewed last week in Vie Des Arts and featured in a Montreal.TV webisode (that i was completely unprepared to be interviewed in, i prefer my side of the lens, but it was wonderful none the less)! The printed love from Montreal is pretty sweet.
